Usage
Emphasizes duration of an action starting in the past and continuing now, or recently stopped. Used when duration or evidence of the action matters.

Common Mistakes
Mistake 1: Confusing for/since. WRONG: since 3 hours. CORRECT: for 3 hours.
Mistake 2: Using with stative verbs. WRONG: I have been knowing her. CORRECT: I have known her.
Mistake 3: When action is finished. WRONG: I have been eating breakfast (finished). CORRECT: I ate breakfast.
