Explanation
A preposition shows the relationship between a noun and other words in a sentence, indicating location, direction, time, or manner.
Prepositions of place: 'in' for enclosed spaces (in the room), 'on' for surfaces (on the table), 'at' for specific points (at the door). Prepositions of time: 'at' for specific times (at 3 o'clock), 'on' with days (on Monday), 'in' with months/years (in January).
Prepositions of movement: to, into, toward, through, across. Common phrases: depend on, listen to, look at, wait for, believe in.
